Thanks to everyone for sticking through the weird blog issues of the last two days. My domain name had lapsed and I didn’t get a notification from my hoster. So it got parked in an advertising site, available for anyone to grab.
Fortunately for me, pirates did not make off with it before I realized what was going on and paid to hold my domain name until approximately the end of time. Phew. In the meantime, I discovered that at least one place was advertising my site as being worth $5278 US. How thrilling. More than the 25 cents worth of chemicals that used to be the little factoid circulating in my teen years about what a human was worth.
A big thank you especially to all who emailed with supportive words.

You mean that your site is not selling insurance on the front page. And the deals looked so good. 😉
And I miss the 600 viag– ci— adverts hidden in the HTML code.
So has the city archives copied your blog for all time, so that future historical-politicians can see what is what and what was when.
Dead web pages or dead links are a shame but a fact of the fast electr0n age we have.
Most families no longer have any pictures of th past 5 years as they dropped film and printing in favour of digital photos, looked and and overwritten in the cameras.

Bill – on the other hand, when I want to go look for a photo I took five years ago, it is sitting on my hard drive, and I can find it in a matter of minutes.

Frances
In the spirit of saying thanks that you are back:
I had emailed M. Geller, who emailed back:
“it’s OK. I know that Frances has lots of people trying to fix her site. I’m sure she’ll be back soon, thanks for writing! Cheers
ps…it might be a good opportunity to read a book.
