The 125th birthday is approaching and people are planning all kinds of commemorative events. Ive been asked to be on a radio program to talk about a person I think has made a major contribution to shaping the city.
I have some ideas of my own but would love to hear yours while I’m making my own choice. Remember, no time limit, doesn’t have to be a person still living — anyone back to the dawn of time would be good.

What about the crooked Indian Agent who convinced the Kitsilano to sell out? Can he get an honorary mention from all the Kits Point residents 😉

@ FH Leghorn, Brian Salmi did not found the Rhino Party, rather he tried to revive it. The party was founded in 1963 by Jacques Ferron, Gaston Miron and Michel Rivard.
I would agree that Major Matthews would be a great addition to this list given his work to help preserve our city’s history for future generations

How about GE? General Electric made $14.2 billion in profit last year, only $5.1 billion of which came from its operations in the United States and paid no taxes!!!- we have already named a chunk of Arthur Erikson’s Robson Square/Courthouse comples after GE and they make the most money off wars of any company in the world. Go GE! Now that’s imagination at work. Who needs cities when we have globalization?
